More rain is on the way to the Permian Basin.

As a result, the National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for the entire NewsWest9 viewing area including: Andrews, Borden, Crane, Dawson, Ector, Gaines, Glasscock, Howard, Loving, Martin, Midland, Mitchell, Pecos, Reagan, Reeves, Scurry, Upton, Ward and Winkler County. In New Mexico, Lea and Eddy County are also included in the watch.

Threats with the watch include heavy rain and flash flooding, gusty winds up to 50 miles per hour, frequent lightning strikes and small hail. Rainfall amounts could be between two to four inches in some areas through the weekend.

The watch is in effect through Sunday morning.
