ODESSA, TX (KWES) - An Odessa man is behind bars after allegedly resisting transport and spitting blood into an officer's face.
Odessa police were sent out Saturday afternoon to the 3800 block of Everglade Ave. for a possible fight in progress.
Authorities say when they arrived at the residence, officers found an intoxicated subject, identified as Shane Harold, 32. Harold was taken into custody for public intoxication.
While officers were transporting Harold to the jail, he took his seat belt off and began kicking the patrol car.
The two officers stopped the car and tried to put Harold's seat belt back on. It was then that Harold attempted to kick one of the officers in the face.
Harold continued to resist, was combative and tried to head butt an officer in the face.
According to police, Harold later spit blood into the face of Corporal Coty Watts.
Watts was treated at the hospital for exposure to Harold's blood and bodily fluids.
Harold was taken to the hospital, released and the charged and arrested with harassment of a public servant, resisting transport and public intoxication.
