CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

An American Airlines flight from Washington, D.C. to Charlotte experienced cabin pressurization problems Tuesday morning.

American Flight 1936 took off from Washington’s Reagan National Airport just after 9:30 a.m. according to FlightAware.

A reporter on the flight, BuzzFeed’s Rosie Gray, reported the plane experienced cabin pressurization problems and had to stay below 10,000 feet on its way to Charlotte.

“Cabin pressurization not working and we’re flying at 10k feet the whole flight, flight attendants became lightheaded…” Gray tweeted around 10:00 a.m. Tuesday.

According to the airline, the captain received an indicator that there may be a potential for a pressurization issue, so they decided to descend to 10,000 feet out of precaution.

The flight landed safely about around 10:40 a.m. with no issues, according to the airline spokeswoman. She says officials checked on the crew and they were all fine and continued on to their next destination.
