HOWARD COUNTY, TX (KWES) - No injuries were reported following a Friday afternoon fire in Sand Springs, authorities said, but citations were issued.

The fire was sparked by unattended burn barrels on Midway Road and quickly spread to neighboring properties, according to Howard County Volunteer Fire Department officials.

The blaze reignited after it was initially extinguished, authorities said, ultimately burning two acres of land.

10 structures were endangered; a travel trailer was destroyed in the fire.

Citations were issued for failure to comply with burn ban regulations, reckless endangerment and destruction of property, officials confirmed.

Howard County is currently under a burn ban.
