ODESSA, TX (KWES) - One man is behind bars on several charges after he attempted to run from officers in Odessa early Monday morning.
Odessa police said officers saw a bicyclist fail to signal while traveling in the 4500 block of Andrews Hwy.
According to the report, the officers tried to conduct a traffic stop but the bicyclist failed to stop.
We're told the bicyclist, later identified as George Garcia, 55, exited off the bicycle in the 4800 block of Andrews Hwy. and was seen throwing something into a trash can.
Police said they retrieved the item out of the trash can and the item tested positive for methamphetamine.
Garcia is charged with tampering with physical evidence and possession of methamphetamine.
Garcia was later taken to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.
