ODESSA, TX (KWES) -

Odessa police arrested a mother for child endangerment after her toddler was found wandering alone in the Target parking lot.

Back on May 28, police were called out to Target on a report of a 3-year-old child that was found walking around the parking lot.

The person who called 911 told officers they had found the child in the parking lot and brought him to the customer service department.

About 40 minutes later the mother of the child, Brandi Tyson, 19, got to the store looking for the boy.

Tyson told officers she had left the child in the care of someone else, but eventually admitted that she had left her son outside of their apartment while she took a shower.

After their investigation, detectives were able to obtain a warrant for Tyson’s arrest.

Odessa police took Tyson into custody Monday afternoon after responding to an urgent request at the CPS office. There they arrested and charged Tyson with abandoning or endangering a child.
