RockHounds manager weighs in on former Hounds big breaks

MIDLAND- There is a group of former RockHounds doing big things in the big leagues.

Ryon Healy, who was a member of the hounds 2015 championship team, has quickly made a name for himself with the Oakland A's. This included a walk off homer this past Saturday night against Tampa Bay.

Right hander Daniel Mengden has quickly become fan favorite for the A's.

Some other former Hounds on the A's roster include Sean Menea and Bruce Maxwelll.

NewsWest 9 caught up with Rockhounds manager Ryan Christenson and asked him what's it like to see his former guys doing big things.

"This group has kind of been the group that everybody in our organization has been keeping an eye on and expecting them to start getting to the big leagues this year," Christenson said." I text them enough to tell them that we're keeping an eye on them and to congratulate them on certain things here and there and to just let them know that we're still pulling for them."
