Barnes, Klabough talk goaltender's clutch performance

MIDLAND- It's a good time to be a professional soccer fan in Midland. Sockers FC is off to the PDL Final Four for the first time in franchise history.

A huge reason why is because of goaltender Russ Klabough's performance last Saturday. He made four clutch saves in penalty kicks to send his team to the next round with a 2-1 win over Oklahoma City.

"When overtime hit I could see the legs on the guys were getting tired and they've been working so hard all game for us," Klabough said. "I just wanted to get to PK's just so I could have a chance to play my part, you know luckily it went my way."

"I told the boys this right before we went into penalty kicks, whatever happens, Russ is going to win this game for us and then he went out there and made four saves which you know I've never seen that done in my career," Sockers Head Coach Matt Barnes said.

Next up for Sockers FC is a final four match-up with the Michigan Bucks on the road this coming Saturday.
