Ector Co. Sheriff release details in stabbing

ECTOR COUNTY, TX (KWES) -

Just before 4 p.m. on Thursday Ector Co Sheriff's deputies were out to 151 S Hasty Road on a report of a 23-year-old stabbing victim.

It all started when a fight broke out between a group of women, when Eddie Olivas attempted to break it up and protect his wife.

That was when Joseph Esparza, 18, intervened which then led to a fight and eventually the stabbing.

Deputies found Esparza in the 2500 block of  W 8th St. and was taken into custody for an active failure to appear warrant.

Esparza told admitted to authorities to stabbing Olivas and was charged with murder. He is currently at the Ector County jail with no bond set for the murder charge.
