Laredo, Texas - U.S. Customs and Border Protection seized a shipment of cocaine at the Laredo Port of Entry with a street value of $287,980.
The seizure occurred on Saturday when a CBP officer sent a car, crossing over from Mexico, for a secondary inspection.
A drug dog, as well as a non-intrusive imaging system, led to the discovery of 16 packages allegedly containing 37 lbs. of cocaine.
The occupants of the car, a 30-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman, both of Nuevo Leon, Mexico, were arrested. The case was then turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations.
