ODESSA, TX (KWES) - A harmless evening at the bar turned out to be a nightmare for one man visiting Odessa in the first week of June.
The man goes to his room after a few drinks, accidentally leaves his door open and wakes up to find his room ransacked.
"You can see some people looking into his room, talking," said Susan Rogers with Odessa Crime Stoppers. "There is a house keeper standing down the way and as the suspects leave, the house keeper goes and reaches in and locks the door."
But even a locked door won't stop the criminals. The woman goes to the clerk and claims to be the man's spouse. The clerk issued the suspect a key and the criminals were one step closer to their ultimate goal.
"They give her the key," said Rogers. "She goes back up to the room, unlocks the room and goes in and starts ransacking the room. In the video, you can see two males outside and then you see her running out of the room with a bag."
In that bag, his wallet, credit cards, his laptop, his boots, gone. To make matters worse, the criminals then go to Wal-Mart and charge about $500 worth of items to the victim's cards. Now, Odessa Crime Stoppers needs your help tracking down the suspects.
"What we're looking for in this is two male suspects and a female suspect," said Rogers. "The video is pretty clear. I think someone will recognize them. We don't believe they were staying at the hotel at the same time, we don't really know why they were there."
Once caught, the trio could face charges of burglary.
