For the second straight year, NFL great LaDanian Tomlinson will put on the "LaDanian Tomlinson Midland Elite Football Clinic" at Midland Christian High School on July 15th-16th.
NewsWest 9 talked to Tomlinson on Friday.
He told us that his clinic isn't just about on the field performance but in the classroom as well.
"If your inspired to play at the collegiate level as a student athlete than you need these three components, there's character, you need the education and then you need the performance," Tomlinson said.
He also told us how meeting a former Dallas Cowboy great helped shape him at a similar camp.
"My life changed when I was 12 years old, about to be 13 and I met Emmit Smith at Jay Novacek's football camp," Tomlinson said. "My life changed. At that point I gained the confidence, I started to believe in myself and at that point I really believed that I can go beyond high school or beyond once I met Emmit Smith.
