ODESSA, TX (KWES) - A man is behind bars after he attempted to stab people at an Odessa convenience store.
Odessa police were called out to the 7-Eleven in the 1000 block of North Grant for a panic alarm Tuesday night.
Dispatch told the officers that a man was in the store attempting to stab people with a knife.
The man, Samuel Slade, 50, then ran before the officers got to the scene.
Slade was found by officers in the 1100 block of North Grant.
Police say Slade was intoxicated and was in possession of 15 Seroquel pills that he did not have a prescription for.
Witnesses told police that they saw Slade swing a knife at several customers.
An employee who was present when this happened said Slade was banned from the store and got upset when he was asked to leave.
Slade was charged and arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a dangerous drug and public intoxication.
