ODESSA, TX (KWES) - The City of Odessa is advising residents that they will be beginning their water disinfection on Friday.
City officials said residents may notice a bleach or chlorine like smell in city water.
We're told only chlorine will be used to disinfect the water, instead of Chloramines, which is a combination of chlorine and ammonia.
Officials said the change will last about four weeks and is a proactive maintenance activity to assist in maintaining adequate chlorine residuals in the distribution system.
If you have any questions about the disinfection, contact City of Odessa Public Works Director, Thomas Kerr, at (432) 335-4634.
