ODESSA, TX (KWES) - An Odessa firefighter resigned Wednesday and is now in jail for aggravated assault, sexual assault of a child, and indecency with a child.
The victim, now 12-years-old, told authorities that Clayton Blount, 29, had been sexually abusing her for several years.

An arrest warrant was issued for Blount on Wednesday according to Odessa Police Corporal Steve Lesueur.
On Thursday around noon, Blount was pulled over for a traffic stop when he was arrested by the U.S. Marshal's service.
Blount is charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault, one count of continuous sexual assault of a child, and two more counts of indecency with a child.
City of Odessa Public Information Officer Andrea Goodson confirmed that Blount resigned yesterday from his position with the fire department.
