ODESSA, TX (KWES) - One man is facing several charges after a traffic stop turned into a chase in Odessa.
Odessa police said officers saw a green GMC Envoy traveling west in the 500 block of East University Blvd. with an expired registration.
According to the report, a traffic stop was made and officers spoke with the driver, Otto Christofferson, 25.
Police said while they were talking with Christofferson, they saw a large amount of visible wires and no key in the ignition.
Authorities asked Christofferson to get out of the vehicle as officers though the vehicle may have been stolen.
Police said as they were attempting to detain Christofferson, he began tensing up, refused to place his hands behind his back and took off running from officers.
Officers later caught up with him where he once again refused to place his hands behind his back and resisted arrest.
Authorities added that Christofferson was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, butane torches and green straws with white powder residue.
Christofferson is charged with possession of methamphetamine, resisting arrest and evading arrest.
