HOWARD COUNTY, TX (KWES) - It was a busy Father's Day for some Howard County volunteer firefighters when two tank battery fires were called in.

The first call came just before 9 a.m. Sunday morning from the Powell Ranch in Southeast Howard County.

Seven units were called to this fire and it took firefighters just over 20 minutes to completely put out the flames.

About 15 minutes later, another call came in about a tank battery fire on Highway 176, about five miles out of Big Spring.

We're told this fire had a high H2S gas presence causing firefighters to wear a breathing apparatus.

It took firefighters about an hour to extinguish this fire.

Both of the fires were caused by lightning and no injuries have been reported.
