MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - Over 1,600 customers were without power in the Legends Park area of Midland Tuesday due to high temperatures.
Around 5:20 p.m. the main line locked out, which means the power went off.
According to Sue Mercer, Oncor spokesperson, Oncor is working on several major projects on the west side of Midland, which has power flowing abnormally in the area.
This combined with the power strain because of yesterday's high heat caused the main line in the Legends Park area to lock out yesterday afternoon, shutting off power to over 1,600 customers.
Oncor worked to slowly bring the power grid back online for the area, and it wasn't until nearly 11 p.m. that power was restored.
