MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - The Midland Police Department is warning citizens about IRS phone scammers.

MPD is reminding everyone to never give out any of your personal information over the phone or through email.

If you receive a phone call from someone saying they're with the IRS, take down their full name and badge number.

You can then verify their employment with the IRS by calling 1-800-366-4484.

If you find that you have been contacted by a scammer, you can file a scam report with the treasury department online by clicking this link.
