LOVING, NM (KWES) - A man is behind bars Friday after his involvement in an April car accident that left two dead in Lovington.
Lovington police arrested Oscar Zamora, 19, for two counts of homicide by vehicle, child abuse, reckless driving and 3 counts of a vehicle entering a stop or yield intersection.
Zamora was involved in a two vehicle accident on April 23 that killed Joseph Wier and his wife Tymplaire Wier.
According to Detective Sergeant David Miranda, Public Information officer of the Lovington Police Department, Zamora is currently being held on a $100,000 cash or surety bond in Lea County.
Miranda says that the child abuse charge is due to the fact that his 16-year-old brother was in the car when the accident happened and was injured.
He is looking at possibly serving 10 years in jail if convicted of all the offenses.
