YMCA to build new youth outdoor sports complex

ODESSA, TX (KWES) - The Odessa Family YMCA has announced that it is building a new outdoor youth football sports complex.

The drought in 2013 caused most football fields to dry out which officials say led to an increase in concussions and broken bones.

Due to this, they decided to build a new complex.
With the help of generous donations, the Odessa Pumps Sports Complex will break ground soon in East Odessa.

If you're interested in getting your child into football now the Odessa Y-M-C-A Youth Tackle Football league is enrolling children between 1st and 6th grade.
It's $260 to enroll for non-members.

That includes a jersey, pants, pads and helmet.

The league kicks off September first.
