ODESSA, TX (KWES) - The state will be following up on a drug related case against an Odessa man who was involved in an officer-involved shooting back in April of this year.
Jody Threadgill, 36, was indicted by a grand jury for one count of felon in possession of a firearm.
He fled the scene after Odessa police served a warrant at the Quality Inn on April 1. He was staying in a room with Joel Fabela, 37, who got into a fight with the two officers. The police report said Fabela was armed with a gun and was shot and killed.
Threadgill was initially at-large but was later arrested for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, manufacture or delivery of methamphetamine, evading, and two counts of theft of property on April 5 .
Officers pulled over Threadgill after confirmation the vehicle he was driving was stolen. The affidavit said officers found Threadgill in possession of a gun in the cup holder with six rounds of ammunition. Police said they also noticed a small plastic bag with more than two grams of methamphetamine.
He may serve up to ten years in prison and five years under supervised release.
Threadgill's bond hearing is on June 20th.
