MIDLAND COUNTY, TX (KWES) - Authorities have ruled the death of Josue Garcia, 16, an accident, the Midland County Sheriff's Office said.

The Odessa teen's body was found May 22 near train tracks on the north side of Bankhead Highway, according to officials, and was later identified by a Tarrant County medical examiner using fingerprint analysis.

Garcia's cause of death is listed as blunt force trauma in a preliminary autopsy report.

No other injuries were located, Midland County Sheriff Gary Painter confirmed.

Investigators said the deadly injuries appeared to be consistent with falling or jumping off a moving train.

However, sources close to Garcia maintain he may have been the victim of foul play.
