Midland Police release new information into last Saturday's murder

MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - On Tuesday, the Midland Police Department released new information into the shooting near the Midland Polo Club. Police charged 26 year old Ernesto Natividad with the murder of 20 Walter Galicia.

Sara Bustilloz, Public Information Officer of for the City of Midland said, "You never know the circumstances of a shooting until you arrive there."

The arrest affidavit said a witness saw Ernesto Natividad and others hanging out and drinking beer near the club. Natividad became upset with Galicia because he was taking pictures and recording.

"There they found the victim with two gunshot wounds, one to the torso, one to the leg. He was transported to the hospital where he later passed away,"said Bustilloz.

Bustilloz added police responded quickly to the shooting and were able to make the arrest after speaking to witnesses and getting a description of Natividad before he returned to the scene.

"That happens more than you would think, a suspect would return to the scene, they want to see what's going on," said Bustilloz.

Bustilloz said the city has seen one murder more each year as Midland has grown and with this being the first murder in the Tall City this year she says it's one too many.

"The way that we try to combat homicides and murder in Midland is to bring the suspect to justice. For us just our residents knowing when something like this happens, we're going to handle it," said Bustilloz.

Officials said Natividad and Galicia had done work at the club before. Natividad is facing one count of murder.
