ODESSA, TX (KWES) - A man was arrested in Odessa after his girlfriend told police that he struck her across the face and threw her to the ground.
Odessa police were called out to the 2200 block of Hanley Street after receiving an incomplete 911 call shortly after midnight on Friday.
Officers found a 31-year-old woman waving her arms and crying in the front yard at this address.
Authorities say after both subjects got into an argument, the woman's boyfriend, William Rains, 30, struck her across the face with an open hand and threw her onto the ground.
Police say they saw bruising and discoloration on the woman's body.
Rains was arrested for assault family violence with a prior conviction.
