Chisos Basin tries to conserve water due to shortage

BREWSTER COUNTY, TX (KWES) - A severe water shortage in the Chisos Basin at Big Bend National Park has resulted in conservation measures to be implemented.

Park officials have taken action by closing the RV dump station, using paper plates to eliminate dish washing, and continuing a smoking ban.

They are also asking guests to bring their own drinking water, only use water to rinse when brushing your teeth or showering and otherwise turn the water off.

There is no word on how long these measures will last.
