Two arrested in Big Spring drug bust

BIG SPRING, TX (KWES) - On Wednesday afternoon multiple law enforcement agencies conducted a drug raid in Big Spring that lead to the seizure of drugs, stolen property, as well as firearms.

In a joint effort between Big Spring Police Department, Howard County Sheriff's Office and Glasscock County Sheriff's Office, a search warrant was carried out at 2516 Chanute Dr. in Big Spring.

An investigation had revealed that stolen property was being traded for drugs at this residence.

After the Big Spring/Howard County S.W.A.T made entry and secured the house, a marijuana grow room with 18 plants as well as seven and a half pounds of packaged marijuana was found.

Numerous firearms, stolen ammunition and shooting supplies were seized along with two stolen televisions.

Francisco Olivarez, 27, and Bianca Valencia, 25, were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana over five pounds.

Their four children that were also living in the home were placed with family members by Child Protective Services.

More charges are expected for Olivarez and Valencia in the future.
