The threat of severe weather returns to West Texas Thursday and afternoon.
A dry line will move across West Texas Thursday during the afternoon hours bringing the next chance of severe weather to the area.
The highest chance for strong storms will be across the eastern portions of the Permian Basin, including Midland, Odessa, and Big Spring.
The time line for the strongest storms will be between 2 pm and 9 pm.
The strongest storms will be capable of producing:
- Large hail (quarter-size+)
- Strong winds (60+ mph)
- Frequent lightning
- Flash flooding (~1" of rain)
The tornado risk will be elevated Thursday afternoon and evening as well.
