Family of man killed by drunk driver asks for help

MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - On Wednesday, the family of 32 year old Louie White spoke about the friend and father they lost after he was killed by a drunk driver last Friday night.

Lawrence Wynne, the family spokesperson said, When I heard the news, to be completely honest with you I felt like it ripped my heart out."

Described as a hard worker Wynne said White would get out of work to rush home to his kids four biological and three step children whose ages range from one to thirteen years old.

"That's what he lived for was his kids," said Wynne.

Police charged Joseph Thawng with intoxicated manslaughter, for White's family there are still so many questions they want answers to.

"Why was he behind the wheel? Why did he have three friends in the car with him and they let him drive," said Wynne.

Wynne added White was a bike enthusiast and described riding his motorcycle as two wheel therapy. Wynne would like to let his friend know his family is going to be alright.

"We love him and his wife and kids are going to be taken care of. He doesn't have anything to worry about when it comes to that," said Wynne.

At last check Thawng is currently being held in the Midland County jail. His bond has been set at $100,000.

White's family has set up a GoFundMe account if you wish to donate and help the family.
