BIG SPRING, TX (KWES) - The Big Spring Animal Shelter is that much closer to becoming a no-kill shelter.
The city council approved a lease agreement with Relocation Rescue Incorporated.
The rescue group will build a new facility to house animals until they can be adopted.
The land is surplus property the city got during the new landfill process that happened years ago.
The rescue organization is separate from the city's animal shelter.
They will work with the shelter and the Humane Society to achieve the city's no kill goal.
