MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - The City of Midland has officially passed in ordinance that is sure to go over well with citizens looking for a ride.
The Midland City Council passed a new ordinance regulating transportation network companies on Tuesday after speaking to both Uber and the citizens of Midland.
The new ordinance removes the need for the City of Midland to perform background checks on drivers, decreases the permit fee for drivers and more.
During talks between the City and Uber, the ride-sharing company agreed to come back to the Tall City as long as the ordinance passed.
This new ordinance goes into effect on June 1.
