Strong and severe weather returns to the forecast Monday afternoon.
The highest threat for severe weather will be the eastern portions of the Permian Basin.
This area includes Midland, Odessa, Big Spring, Fort Stockton, and Snyder.
Storms will develop along the dry line Monday afternoon around 3 pm. The storms will track NE at 20-30 mph.
Storms will develop quickly and be capable of producing:
- Large Hail (Quarter-size)
- Strong Winds (60+ mph)
- Flash Flooding (>1" rainfall)
The tornado threat is enhanced this afternoon. Any storms that develop today will be capable of producing a tornado.
It is important to have a shelter plan in place and to stay weather aware Monday afternoon and evening.
