MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - A lockdown for Lee High School and Rusk Elementary in Midland has been lifted.
Midland ISD administrators said a current Lee High School student made a report to campus administrators stating another student had some type of firearm in the parking lot.
As a precaution, Lee High School and Rusk Elementary were placed on lockdown around 9 a.m.
The schools remained under lockdown until authorities completed their investigation.
Administrators said following a very thorough search by officers and administrators, no weapon was ever found and no threat was discovered.
The lockdown was lifted just before 11 a.m.
