ANDREWS, TX (KWES) -

A Lamesa man is behind bars in connection to the Benny Boyd dealership arson investigation in Andrews.

Andrews Police Department Department Chief Ronny McCarver confirmed Florentino Torres, 25, was arrested in Dallas on outstanding warrants in Andrews.

Torres is charged with arson and burglary.

The fire broke out April 21, 2016 around 5 a.m.

The dealership suffered heavy damage, mostly due to the flames.

The fire affected the business's showroom, the sales room and parts of their southern building and several items were stolen from the business.

Two weeks before the fire Torres was arrested by Odessa Police Department (OPD), accused of stalking and criminal mischief.

Torres was suspected to have gone the his ex-girlfriend's house, damaged a window of the home and two vehicles.

The woman told OPD she had asked Torres to stop contact multiple times.

In the arrest affidavit, police said Torres gave himself away when he dropped his cell phone in front of the home.

Earlier this month Benny Boyd in Andrews opened a temporary office. They plan to have the new showroom rebuilt in the next 6-9 months.

It's unclear if Andrews Police Department is still searching for a second suspect.
