Odessa police asking residents to replace porch lights for Police Memorial Week

ODESSA, TX (KWES) - This week is National Police Memorial Week and the week was set aside to recognized the service and sacrifice of U.S. law enforcement that were killed in the line of duty.

On Thursday, members of the Odessa Police Department, Ector County Sheriff's Office, Midland County Sheriff's Office, Texas Department of Public Safety and Lubbock Police Department will hold a memorial service to honor fellow officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

Police are asking residents to replace their porch light with a blue bulb during National Police Memorial Week to honor all police officers who have fallen in the line to duty.

The service will begin at 10 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
