Organization helps find forever homes for dogs

For the first time, "Dog is my Copilot" will be flying into Hobbs so some dogs in need can find their forever homes.

HOBBS, NM (KWES) - For the first time, "Dog is my Copilot" will be flying into Hobbs so some dogs in need can find their forever homes.

These dogs will be coming from Hobbs, New Mexico, Amarillo and Denver City, Texas and flown north to Colorado and Utah.

Both of these states help Texas and New Mexico with overcrowding within shelters.

Jen O'Connor, a volunteer with "Dog is my Copilot" said the organization greatly benefits from their volunteers, who are just trying to make a difference.

O'Connor said, "All dogs and even cats are flown to safe places, free of charge."

She went on to say the organization is trying to make a better life for the animals.

O'Connor recommends you to spay and neuter your pets and make sure they are up to date on their vaccines.
