The risk for severe weather returns to the forecast Sunday night for West Texas and Southeastern New Mexico.
The strongest storms tonight will be capable of producing:
- Quarter-sized hail
- 50+ mph wind gusts
- Frequent lightning
- Flash flooding
The storms will develop during the late afternoon hours west of Pecos and move into the Permian Basin by 9 pm Sunday night.
We will see scattered showers and thunderstorms return to the Midland-Odessa metro late this evening around 10 pm.
The storms will continue pushing east out of the area by early Monday morning. We will see partly cloudy skies for that Monday morning drive.
