GUADALUPE MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK, TX (KWES) -

We're still following the spread of the Coyote Fire in the Guadalupe Mountains.

On Thursday, cooler temperatures and high humidity limited the spread.

However, the fire has now consumed over 10,000 acres.

Firefighters worked on Friday to prevent future growth of the fire.

When conditions were favorable, they attempted small burn-out operations to remove fuel.

Until further notice, the only park areas remaining open are Guadalupe Peak Trail, El Capitan and Smith Springs Trail.
