HOBBS, NM (KWES) - One Hobbs woman is behind bars following a bomb threat in Hobbs on Thursday.

Hobbs police said they were called out to the 1800 block of North Turner St. just after noon.

Authorities said several local businesses were evacuated and traffic was detoured for two hours while police searched the area.

An explosive detection K9 was also brought in.

However, no explosive devices were found.

According to the report, Amy Valdez, 30, was arrested and charged with bomb scares unlawful.

Valdez is currently behind bars at the Hobbs Police Detention Facility pending arraignment.
