ECTOR COUNTY, TX (KWES) - Family and friends are mourning the death of the man who was run over during a fight in the parking lot of Jaguar's Club.
We reached out to Jaguar's for interview but couldn't reach anyone on the phone.
On April 23, authorities say a fight broke out between Jeffery Mark Braun Jr., 35, and a passenger in a vehicle.
During the fight, the driver, Daniel Ruiz, 28, drove forward hitting Braun. Deputies said he then reversed and ran over him again.
"Security guards that were working for Jaguar's opened fire at some point, shooting at the vehicle trying to get it to stop running over the person," said Ector County Sheriff Mark Donaldson.
Ruiz later died after being taken to the hospital.
Authorities said Braun was run over twice. He was taken to Medical Center Hospital and in critical condition for weeks. He passed away Sunday.
His body will be sent to Tarrant County Monday for an autopsy.
Braun's wife said that he was the most kind and generous person she has ever known. A friend described Braun as one of a kind, a man who lived life to the fullest and the type to cheer you up with his sense of humor.
Authorities said things like this happen far too often at Jaguar's.
"The last time we went through something like this, we filled a nuisance abatement on them. The way that reads is they have an opportunity to fix the problems. They did fix those things and comply, so we have to start over," said Donaldson.
The names of the security guards haven't been released.
The case is still under investigation and no arrests have been made.
