ODESSA, TX (KWES) - The American Sniper Author Chris Kyle will be remembered and honored by a Memorial Plaza in Odessa.

Crews are replanting four live oaks from former President George W. Bush's ranch for the Chris Kyle's Memorial Plaza.

Each tree is valued at costs more than $3,000.

Kyle, who was from Odessa, was also a Navy Seal.

The memorial will also feature a bronze statue of Kyle.

You may remember Kyle and his friend Chad Littlefield were shot and killed in 2013 at a shooting range.

A former Marine was convicted in the killings and sentenced to life in prison.

Chris Kyle's memorial is expected to open in July.
