ECTOR COUNTY, TX (KWES) - A former Permian High School teacher has been formally sentenced after being found guilty of nine counts, including sexual assault of a child and improper relationship between an educator and a student.

Jay Dee Burns, 45, was sentenced to a total of 60 years behind bars.

According to the arrest affidavit, Burns was using the adult website "Fetlife" when he met an 18-year-old Permian High School student. He then began a sexual relationship with her that included many inappropriate acts.

Then after the 18-year-old student came forward, a 16-year old Permian High Student also met Burns on the same website and had accused him of similar accusations.
