COAHOMA, TX (KWES) - Saturday is the day to decide. We're told this particular topic has been something many of the people living in Coahoma have been asking for.
The decision to sell beer and wine has been on the city council's radar for years.
Residents and store owners alike are in favor of the ordinance, especially when it comes to convenience.
City Secretary Tammy Griffith said people living in Coahoma who are in the mood for beer or wine are forced to drive to either Sand Springs, which is three miles down the road or make the further trek to Big Spring.
Griffith said if people are going to make a purchase, it would be best for the City of Coahoma to get the tax revenue off of the purchase.
The city council expects to have the results of the election by Monday.
