ECTOR COUNTY, TX (KWES) - A Florida man is behind bars after leading authorities on a pursuit across Ector County on Thursday.
The Ector County Sheriff's Office said it all started when they were called out to an address in Goldsmith in reference to a suspect refusing to leave.
We're told the suspect was in the vehicle at the time, saw the deputy arriving and took off.
Authorities said the deputy pursued the vehicle but lost sight of him only to see him again as he headed back to talk to the victim.
According to the report, the deputy again tried to stop the vehicle but the subject continued to run.
The suspect's vehicle stopped in the area of Aster Street, south of Highway 158, in Gardendale, after authorities used spike strips to take out the vehicle's tires.
The subject was later identified as Jason Wojciechowski, 33, of Florida.
Deputies said further investigation revealed that Wojciechowski had an outstanding warrant for a stolen vehicle out of Michigan.
Wojciechowski is charged with evading in a motor vehicle and was taken to the Ector County Detention Center.
The Andrews Police Department also assisted in bringing the pursuit to a close.
No injuries were reported in connection with the pursuit.
