ODESSA, TX (KWES) - An Odessa man is wanted by Odessa police after he was arrested earlier this week and bonded out of jail.
Samuel Nabarrete, 24 is wanted by Odessa police after a large amount of inappropriate photos and videos were found on his phone.
Nabarrete was arrested Tuesday on a charge of invasive visual recording, that's when police obtained a search warrant for his phone.
Odessa police believe there are at least 20 victims after photos of 19 children were found of Samuel Nabarrete's phone. Police said when the pictures were recovered Nabarrete had already bonded out of Ector County Jail.
"That's what we've seen until now, anything is possible. It's possible there could be more," said Cpl. Steve LeSueur with Odessa Police Department.
Odessa police said only one incident was reported was reported involving Nabarrete. Police believe the other 19 victims didn't even know it happened.
"The investigation revealed that 19 out of the 20 incidents took place at Walmart," said LeSueur. "If they feel they could have possibly been victimized by Nabarrete, they're encouraged to call the Odessa Police Department or Odessa Crime Stoppers."
Investigation started after a report was made in January. According to the arrest warrant, a mother said she was shopping at Walmart when Nabarrete was working. The woman said Nabarrete knelt down next to her daughter, 8, she told police Nabarrete's phone was positioned in a way it appeared he was taking photos of the child's private area.
While Nabarrete's cell phone was in the custody of police, detectives recovered pictures of the additional 19 victims, police said Nabarrete had already bonded out of Ector County Jail.
"This is a rare charge, I've never seen anything like this. This is already a rare charge to begin with, let alone 20 counts of the same charge, definitely is unusual," said LeSueur.
