Brownsville, Texas -

102 pounds of suspected marijuana was seized by U.S. Customs and Border Protection in two separate incidents at the Gateway International Bridge.

Authorities say the two seizures took place on Monday and Tuesday in Brownsville when CBP officers sent both cars to secondary search stations for intensive inspections.

CBP said the first vehicle had 53 packages of marijuana concealed in the car, and the second had 38 packages hidden.

The combined weight of the marijuana was 102 pounds and worth about $20,396.

The drivers of the vehicles were arrested and the cases have been turned over to the Cameron County Sheriff’s Office for further investigation.
