Midland police officer resigns after being arrested in Odessa

MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - A Midland Police Department officer has resigned after being arrested in Odessa last week.

According to a release, Rudy Robles, 23, resigned Tuesday during the early stages of an internal investigation by Midland police.

Police said Robles was arrested on a misdemeanor assault charge following a fight at his Odessa apartment with his live-in girlfriend.

The arrest affidavit stated that Robles' had been drinking alcoholic beverages, got into a verbal argument and "grabbed his live-in girlfriend's right arm and right wrist and began to pull her."

Robles was with Midland police for three years before his resignation.

The case against Robles is still ongoing.
