There is a new sales tax holiday in Texas.
It's for emergency supplies.
You can buy items to help prepare you for emergencies and severe weather, tax-free, starting April 23 through April 25.
State lawmakers created the emergency preparation supplies sales tax holiday during their last legislative session.
It is aimed at helping Texans prepare for severe weather, flooding, fires, and other disasters.
Some of the tax-free items on the list include single or multi-pack batteries, first aid kits, portable self-powered radios and lights, fire extinguishers, and tarps.
