Man arrested after trying to eat marijuana during traffic stop

ODESSA, TX (KWES) -

Odessa police arrested a man after he tried to eat marijuana during a traffic stop.

Authorities say on Monday night, officers saw a truck run a stop sign.  He was then pulled over by the officers.

The driver of the vehicle, Michael Coleman, 29, was seen by officers with a green leafy substance in his mouth.

He was asked to spit out the substance, which he did. The substance was confirmed to be marijuana.

Officers also found a bag of marijuana on the passenger seat after they searched the car.

Further investigation revealed Coleman had a warrant out of Midland County for possession of marijuana.

Coleman was arrested for tampering with physical evidence and possession of marijuana (warrant)
