High fire danger for parts of West Texas

High fire danger for parts of West Texas

Fire danger is on the rise for West Texas this Tuesday.

Afternoon temperatures are reaching the mid-eighties, which is ten to fifteen degrees above the normal for the beginning of April. Dry air, gusty winds, and the warm weather are to blame for today's Red Flag Warning. Avoid any outdoor burning or activities that lead to the production of sparks.

A cold front moves in early Wednesday morning bringing us relief from the heat and fire danger! High temperatures on Wednesday will be in the mid-seventies and much more seasonable.
